Patch 7.41 launched today!

There will be lots of new stuff, but new features wise we have two major things added:

The latest Cosmic Exploration and the next step in the new Relic weapons, the Phantom Weapons Saga

Received the newest Arrangement Album from SE in the mail last week, it’s the “Orchestral Arrangement Album Vol. 4” with 5 tracks on it.

A little trick I use when going somewhere I have to get to with about the same level mobs is the gatherer job trick. See, as a gatherer you get SKEAK at level 8, and when activated, you can avoid engagement with enemies up to 4 levels higher than your level. Like if you want to reach your Aether Currents to unlock flying, that method is a pretty nice one, just ride along and literally ignore all the mobs, normally, without SNEAK, you have to be 10 levels + higher to gain the same effect.

Earrings and the issue with character creation permanent earrings and glam earrings and the fact that some are one side only earrings and others are both sides.

Give us a left side and right side earring slot, just like with the finger rings.

Fashion accessories feature could be the solution, imo.

Candy Shop progress:

I unlocked DNC. This is the DNC the starting gear plus the wings.

These weapons are my favorite non-shiny DNC weapons, and I make a point to get them for every character that unlocks the job, (unlock requirement for DNC is a DoW/DoM job at level 60), as soon as it does so.

I finished the Heavensward 3.0 MSQ yesterday. HW is still one of the best expansions of FFXIV.

That let me start with a few optional side quests, namely, at least in my case currently, unlocking and playing through the HW 8-man Raid.

It is very easy to find a group for the fights and if you stay in the instance after the fight is over, almost always, all people will leave, so you will be able to get the loot for yourself and be able to get decent upgrades for your level, the first wing, A1N-A4N will give you iLvl 190 gear. Not the best, but a great start. And you can get a complete set, minus the weapon, for doing all 4 fights in one tier.

We don’t get “Everything Burns” on this EP, but since it’s free to download, Everything Burns that is, i don’t really mind. It would have been nice if they had put it together with the other tracks of 7.4.

No ingame seasonal events until Valention’s day, closely followed by Little Ladies’ Day in Feb. and March.

Candy Shop progress:

JP Meteor DC Ramuh world FC (established on 1/4/26) needs to be 30 days old for us to buy a house.

We reached FC rank 4 this week (need rank 6 to buy a house).

You basically earn FC EXP by playing your character, pretty much the same as the Cata Guild leveling system in WoW. The max rank is 30.

To buy a private estate you need to have unlocked housing  (GC rank of 2nd Lt., be level 50 or higher and, obviously have access to the plot you want to bid on, so unlock travel, in one form or another, to Mist (Limsa Lominsa), Lavender Beds (Gridania), The Goblet (Ul’dah), Emporium (Ishgard) or Shirogane (Kugane).

The same requirements go for buying an apartment, with the only difference that you don’t have to enter a lottery, you just go to the front desk of the apartment building and rent it permanently for 500,000 gil.

A FC room is basically the same, with the important difference that it is tied to your membership in the FC. If you get removed from the FC, the room is demolished, if you leave the FC yourself, i believe, you have to vacate the FC room before leaving. The price for an FC room is 300,000 gil.

YoshiP did a sort of Q&A for New Years when he visited JP servers with his character.

Here are a few of the questions I thought were interesting to highlight:

Q: Do you have plans to add more character skin colors? 

A: Regarding that, we do have several plans for that so please wait for a bit.

GN: More character customization is always welcome, more skin colors, more face choices, things like that. Although the easiest thing would be to make a completely new character creation experience.

Q: Please add more glamour slots (T/N: Glamour plate slots I think?)

A: We plan to deal with the glamour slots after dealing with the housing and furniture.

GN: Always more Glamour slots and plates!!

Q: Will we have a Switch version [of FFXIV]? 

A: Please look forward to the Switch version.

GN: Amazing to see that the game will come to more platforms.

Q: Can you please implement that flying unit that appears in NieR raids as a mount?

A: Noted on various items and mount requests, I'm going to screenshot them and let the team know 

GN: NieR is one of my favorite games, getting more things from it would be so cool. The mount we got so far from the NieR universe is sold in the GS and you can buy it once you finish the story questline of the NieR Raid.

Q: I'd love it if we could change the house's orientation based for our housing's appearance...! 

A: Got it about the housing! Can't see the words formed by you players though lol.

GN: I’ve been thinking about this myself. But it will be an issue, because the value of a plot is partly calculated by the orientation of the house in relation to the land around it and the streets and stairs and so forth. The entrances to the plots are another issue when it comes to medium and large plots and their value.

Q: It would be great if you could implement a feature where you can store all color dyes in some sort of a palette (Like the Quick Panel that is implemented for this patch), by doing so will smooth out items slots in inventory!

A: Color dye wise we are currently considering something, so we'd like you to wait for a moment.

GN: YES PLEASE!!

Started the FC on JP. It’s got the tag <<KAGE>> Danish for cake.

We got a few members in our little group, one of them being Rigarmorty!

We needed signatures for the FC charter, so I asked him if he wouldn’t mind making a toon with us. Here is a screenshot of our merry band:

My character on Ramuh METEOR Data Center is called Æble Kage, Danish for Apple Cake. Her chocobo’s name is Pebernød (pepper nut), a Danish Christmas cookie.
